Jacob Fry

Jacob Fry is a PhD student in the ISA team at the University of Sydney with Prof. Manfred Lenzen. Jacob is working on tracing the flow of waste material through the economy.

The project involves first assisting with the sourcing of high resolution waste data to be incorporated into an input-output model. Once an accurate model has been developed several case studies will be completed. One potential case study will look at the potential to recover important metals from e-waste scrap. Another study will investigate the remanufacture/repair of appliances, such as refrigerators.

Jacob holds a Bachelor of Science (Applied Physics) and a Masters of Engineering (Sustainable Energy). Prior to joining the ISA he worked as an energy efficiency consultant. He has also worked as a research assistant at the School of Population Health at the University of Melbourne.
