Research Fellow - Strategic Planning: Developing a dynamic planning and forecasting model

This is an excellent opportunity to help shape the future direction of Australia's premier university. You will participate in a 3-year research project on the development of a dynamic planning and forecasting tool. This will entail:

  • designing an efficient system for data input from disparate data sources;
  • integration and balancing of institutional, econometric, and macroeconomic accounting data;
  • optimisation of non-linear systems to meet a variety of objectives;
  • stochastic uncertainty calculus.

You will be a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Computing Science or related field with sound computational skills (preferably FORTRAN, C, or other mathematical programming language); experience in constrained optimisation, and linear and goal programming; experience in designing and programming of end-user interfaces; experience in handling large data bases; experience in solving equations describing dynamic systems.

The position is full-time for an initial three-year term, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.

Remuneration package: $81,729 - $97,053 p.a. (which includes a base salary Level B $69,062 - $82,011 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation)
